No shows seems to be this year's game plan in the gulf. TD5 which at one time was expected to be a tropical storm by tonight has disappeared - GONE.

Normal thinking would suggest a major tropical system would need a lot of time over open water to grown and strengthen. Hurricane Camille formed on Aug 14, 1969 and made landfall as a Cat 5 just 3 days later on Aug 17th. In facts she was rated a Cat 5 earlier on Aug 16th..
